UF Health Jacksonville is planning a very special ceremony leading up to National Donate Life Month. Join us as we raise the Donate Life flag in honor of the organ, tissue and eye donors who so generously gave the Gift of Life, including donors at both UF Health Jacksonville and UF Health North campuses. Featured speakers include donor mother Wendy Layton. Refreshments will be served. Guests may park in the hospital parking garage and follow signs to the Learning Resource Center (LRC) Auditorium.

Visit our LifeQuest Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn pages each week in the month of April when we feature “Paw-some Pets” who are up for adoption at shelters in Tallahassee and Jacksonville. Pets can be therapeutic and provide comfort and companionship for patients both at home and in hospitals. We believe every living creature deserves unconditional love and a second chance at life.

Join us as we celebrate National Donate Life Month and honor those who gave the Gift of Life. At Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare’s annual flag-raising ceremony, you can meet donor parents Paul and Rebecca DeFrank who will share the story of their son, Alex, who donated five organs and saved four lives. The event will start at 10:00 am just outside the Magnolia Lobby, followed by refreshments. There will be table set up in the break room afterward where hospital staff are invited to paint an inspiring Donate Life rock.

Walkers wanted to help promote National Donate Life Month. Join us on Monroe Street on April 6 at 10:30 a.m. for the 56th Annual Springtime Tallahassee Grand Parade.  We will walk the parade route alongside the Nationwide Organ Recovery Transplant Alliance (NORA) vehicle wearing Donate Life trademark blue and green clothing. The parade steps off on Monroe Street just south of the intersection of Monroe Street and Brevard Street and travels south on Monroe past the Florida Capitol ending at Madison Street. Tribute to Life

Tribute to Life is an annual event that honors those who gave the Gift of Life through organ, tissue and eye donation. The next Tribute to Life program will take place at 7:00 p.m. EST on October 25, 2024, at Christ Church in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Much more information will be available in coming months about our program and how families can participate. We anticipate that in-person attendance will be possible, in addition to our live stream on YouTube.  Please mark October 25 at 7:00 p.m. on your calendars. This year’s event will be held on the campus of Ascension St. Vincent’s Southside. Speakers include hospital leaders and physicians and the family of a very special St. Vincent’s patient who became an organ donor and gave the Gift of Life. The ceremony will unveil plans for a special butterfly garden and memorial tree. Information and education about organ, tissue and eye donation will be available.
