Florida’s donor registry is managed by the non-profit organization Donate Life Florida, which is a coalition of all of the organ, tissue and eye donor programs in Florida. LifeQuest is a founding member of Donate Life Florida.

Donate Life Florida was contracted by the State of Florida, Agency for Health Care Administration in 2009 to create a statewide organ, tissue and eye donor registry: The Joshua Abbott Organ and Tissue Donor Registry. It is housed at www.DonateLifeFlorida.org. It is named for a young man from Gainesville, Josh Abbott, a lung-transplant recipient who tirelessly promoted donation throughout his life and became a donor upon his death in 2006.

Even if you enrolled on the registry while getting your driver license, we encourage you to visit the registry to create an online profile. Enrollment on the registry is your legal documentation of your intent to become a donor upon your death, and you are the only one who can amend your decision. That means your loved ones do not have the ability to change your decision after your death.
