Jeffrey Morrill: A Gift of Hope

Jeffrey Morrill was living his dream — married to Keri, his high school sweetheart, four beautiful children, a job he loved to go to every day and teaching Sunday school to 3-year-olds at First Baptist Church.

On August 19, 2014, the idyllic life of the Morrill family was changed forever when Jeffrey was struck and killed by an SUV while on his motorcycle. He was only 31.

In death, as he did in life, Jeffrey helped others by donating his organs. He saved the lives of five others through organ donation and impacted countless others through tissue donation. Being an organ donor gave Jeffrey’s family the gift of hope — the hope that others will live through Jeffrey’s passing.

Keri finds peace and comfort in the fact that five people are alive because of Jeffrey’s donation. This tragedy has strengthened their belief in donation and made them donation advocates. She shared, “On the first anniversary of Jeffrey’s death, we held a blood drive at First Baptist Church. We were honored to continue a tradition of giving to others.”
